Automation. Is not dead?
Data. Is King.
Automation.

Automation isn’t dead, poor automation is.
We’ve all received our fair share of robotic LinkedIn messages and spammy emails, but the truth, small businesses need automation to multiply their time.
One of my favorite automation tools is Zapier.
I’m not technical by any means, but Zapier allows non-engineers to automate simple if, then triggers (i.e. If X happens, then Y happens).
👉 Example: If someone applies to your job, then send them this email.
❌ LinkedIn Automation
I tend to stay away from LinkedIn automation due to security concerns.
LinkedIn is uber strict on their automation policy.
I know people who have done quite well using LinkedIn automation but with such strict policy, the risk of loosing my account has outweighed the benefits of automation outreach.
✅ Email Automation
I am a big fan of email automation.
Lots of emails in recruiting are repetitive. Whether you’re reaching out to prospects or messaging new candidates, the messaging being used is relatively the same.
Writing a killer email requires 4 elements:
Subject Line
Hook
Body
Call To Action
Email automation also allows your to test your copy and offerings to the masses which offers a huge testing platform for you.
If done properly, email marketing will be the most scalable piece of outreach you will have.
Data?

Having access to quality data is a cheat code.
Think about it…
If you don’t have quality data, how do you plan to bring-in job orders or find candidates?
With so many options out there today, finding trustworthy data sources can be a challenge.
Here are a few of my favorites:
🔎 Findymail: Allows for bulk uploading enrichment, which enables you to search for contacts with a limited data-set.
📨 NeverBounce: Email validation tool that makes sure the email address you’re email are in fact active/real. Sending messages to invalid email addresses will harm your domain reputation score, which can lead to your emails going into spam.
🧑💻 Apollo: My go-to source for prospecting. Apollo even has a nifty filter that enables users to search for companies and people who recently posted job openings… talk about a recruiters dream 🤤
Is it me?

It’s hard to talk about growth and not touch on brand.
Your brand is more than a logo; it's the soul of your business.
It's how clients and candidates perceive and remember you.
How do you develop brand?
Branding today starts online.
Get active in communities and don’t be afraid to share your thoughts.
No one has perfect thoughts, just like being right or wrong is often subjective.
Part of going out on your own is being okay with getting uncomfortable, so get uncomfortable 😄
Not comfortable posting on Linkedin?
Committing to a post on LinkedIn a day is not easy.
The thing is… Posting on social media is FREE!
PPC and SEO all cost money, even creating video content takes a lot of time and money.
Posting on LinkedIn or X however… is basically free, outside of the time it takes to write the post.

But I find it odd when a recruiter doesn’t have a profile picture.
